How does it
work?
Scroogle randomly selects an IP address with every search
and Google tags it's cookie to that IP addess. Scroogle then trashes the cookie and saves
your search results in a file which is deleted within the hour.
Google collect the random IP address, the search terms and the date and time for its data
files. Scroogle uses that file and sends the results of the search to your computer,
without using cookies. So, there is no record linking your computer with the actual Google
search.
If Google tries to block the IP address, scroogle immediately uses another random IP
within 6 seconds of any block attempt. Google cannot see your IP address, cannot set a
cookie and won't even know if any two searches are from the same person.
SSL encryption (Even more privacy)
Unlike Google, all searches from this site are encrypted directly from your PC with
"secure socket layers". In other words, no browser data can be read by anyone,
including any monitoring devices used by employers, or sites you visit from the returned
search results. They will have no idea where you came from, who you are, or what you were
searching. With any encrypted connection a little 'padlock' image will appear next to your browser's address bar.
